Audio books have become more popular in recent years. They are portable. You can listen while doing something else. Publishing an audiobook can be a great way to introduce the work to more people. As reported in June 2022, “Publisher’s audiobook revenue grew 25% in 2021 to $1.6 billion, which marks the tenth straight year of double-digit growth, according to the Audio Publishers Association’s Sales Survey conducted by InterQ.”
Getting a book made into an audiobook is another matter. Finding someone who can read well may be fine for a few minutes of instruction. But maybe not for a whole book. Reading well requires quite a bit of work. Finding someone who has a professionally trained voice, understands direction, and knows what to do with their voice to bring a story and characters to life is more difficult. Then, the recordings have to be made and reviewed, edited and mastered so that the sound is true. Excellence never happens by accident.
In considering which books to record, we are selective in the authors and material. Our focus is on a positive, hopeful future – that is what the hopepunk genre represents. So we’re only interested in sci-fi and adventure stories that are heartfelt, inclusive, sensitive, and most of all focus on the better side of human nature. For full-length audiobooks, our production rates start at $2500. We currently provide production services only, not publishing services.
For commercial efforts, we offer our services to script and create product presentation and training materials as well as voice-overs and product launches on YouTube. Professionals have many techniques and subtle nuances that can bring a listener closer. So the result you get is a more positive response to whatever you are doing. Rates start at $250 per hour.
